Topcalf accessories
Everything for the well-being of your calves
The Topcalf calf pens, calf hutches and stalls are generally optimally equipped for an immediate start. In addition to the standard equipment, you will find a wide range of accessories here, from hay racks to calf blankets.
The Topcalf calf teat
Nowadays, many vacuum cleaners are equipped with a click system. This click system reduces the risk of bacterial growth and simplifies the work. The four photos below show teats compared in terms of speed of pick-up and flexibility. The first three are classic teats, the last one is a shorter black teat.
The advantage of this teat is that it is equipped with a membrane. This means that the teat does not leak milk, which is a greater risk with other teats, especially with prolonged use. It is advisable to use a slow teat, as the calf has to make an effort to drink the milk and produce saliva. If this takes too much effort, the calf will drink less. It is therefore important to weigh the teats correctly. We recommend using a soft teat at birth and then switching to a slow teat.
Possible versions:
Suction cup light brown: Fast pick-up speed and soft flexibility
Suction cup white: slow pick-up speed and hard flexibility
Suction cup red: Fairly fast pick-up speed and medium flexibility
Black suction cup: Very slow pick-up speed and extra hard flexibility
The Topcalf hay rack
Thanks to the hay rack, the calves always have access to fresh hay. The hay rack can be easily attached to the calf pens.
Available as a single hay rack or double hay rack.
The Hiko-Topcalf teat pail
Supplied as standard with every Topcalf calf crate or hutch, the Hiko teat bucket. This teat bucket is equipped with the Hiko Click system, making it easy to clean the teat. The bucket is transparent, so you can easily see how much the calf has drunk.
The best from the test
TopAgrar carried out a large practical study of the best teat buckets on the market. Several brands were evaluated in the test on the basis of performance, appearance and ease of use. The result of this test is that Hiko’s teat buckets are the best in the test.
The Topcalf calf rug
With the help of the Topcalf calf body warmer, the calf has to use less energy to regulate its body temperature and can put all its energy into growth.
Prevent energy loss
As the perfect ambient temperature for a young calf is between 15 and 25 degrees, it is advisable to use a calf blanket when the outside temperature is 10 degrees or colder. A cold calf needs more energy to maintain its body temperature. It also experiences stress, which reduces the immune system. A good calf blanket is the ideal solution to keep the calf warmer.
The Topcalf windbreak net
The Topcalf sliding curtain is made to measure for every Trio, Quattro and Quinto calf hut that is used outdoors.
Thanks to the wind protection net, there are no draughts, which reduces the risk of respiratory illnesses.
