Several studies in the past have shown that keeping calves in pairs is beneficial for their social development. This is supported by the removable partition wall from the Duo version of the Topcalf calf pens. This means that the calves can initially be kept individually and then the partition can be removed later. This allows the calf to get used to being together with other calves at an early stage. This makes the step to a group smaller and promotes the calf’s social development at an earlier stage.
